GENESIS CHALLENGE / 001

The Observer’s
Lock.

The machine remembers its results.
It has forgotten how it made them.

Twenty-four missing gates. Three entangled wires. Restore a quantum circuit from the traces it left behind.

YOUR OBJECTIVE

Find any circuit that reproduces all fifteen recorded experiments. Matching one fingerprint isn’t enough. A phase you cannot see in one basis may reveal itself in another.

Exact statevector simulation. No quantum hardware, wallet connection or downloads needed.

RecordedYour circuit
Place gates and run the experiments to compare your circuit.
Exact probabilities & verification tolerance

Values are ideal probabilities, not noisy measurement samples. The server checks every outcome in all 15 experiments within an absolute tolerance of 0.0000001. Rounded percentages in the chart are for readability only.

03 / VERIFY

Think you’ve cracked it?

Submit your twenty-four gates to the private verifier.
Any circuit satisfying all published observations is accepted.

Puzzle integrity & mathematical conventions

The archived observations and fixed connections define the entire win condition. There are no secret extra experiments. A match need not recreate the original gate sequence or the full unknown unitary. Global phase is physically irrelevant. Basis labels use Q0 Q1 Q2, with Q0 on the left. |+⟩ = (|0⟩ + |1⟩)/√2; |+i⟩ = (|0⟩ + i|1⟩)/√2. X measurement uses H; Y measurement uses S† followed by H.

FIELD GUIDE

Learn the instruments.

You don’t need to write code. Start by exploring the recorded observations, then build and test your theory.

  1. Select a gate. Click a gate in the palette and place it on a wire. I means do nothing; an empty slot is not a valid final answer.
  2. Follow the wires. All three gates in a layer apply first, then its fixed CNOT. A filled dot is the control; ⊕ is the target.
  3. Run and compare. Switch inputs and measurement bases. Purple bars are the target; green bars are your last tested circuit.
  4. Match all 15. Every outcome must match, not just the tallest bar. More than one valid circuit may exist.
  5. Verify privately. Submit with a payout address to test the intended claim flow. This preview does not pay funds or establish winner rights.
A useful first question: could two circuits agree in Z but disagree in X or Y? Phase matters—even when a single chart cannot show it.
